Paris in the early 20th century was a mecca for modern artists of the Western world. The French and emigre artists working in this center of artistic activity are now referred to as the School of Paris. It was here that expatriate Wladimir de Terlikowski (1873-1951) found his milieu and became a painter of great distinction. Known as “the Polish Master,” his canvases are admired for their vibrant color and the luscious application of paint with the palette knife. Terlikowski refused to be defined with any one group of painters. Yet the influences of the multiple art movements of the times – Impressionists, Cubists, and Fauves – can be traced in his works. Gallery C is pleased to offer 32 paintings from the Estate. Each is presented in it’s original custom hand-finished frame made by DELF Frame in Paris.
