2 DAY WORKSHOP - Sat & Sun, Feb 24 + 25 10:00am-4:00pm One of the unique qualities of leather is that it is possible to mold and emboss it with a little moisture and pressure. In this workshop we will emboss leather for softcover notebooks by making printing plates from found objects and running them through an etching press.* We will be using pre-made text blocks to save time for creating our printing plates and for paring and working with the leather. *If you prefer to carve a plate in linoleum or wood ahead of time to bring to the workshop, please contact the instructor for more details. CELINE LOMBARDI - studied bookbinding at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA, and also in private study with Monique Lallier in Greensboro, NC and Mark Cockram in London, UK.
